Lord Lackey    Lord Leak    Lord McIntyre    Lord Morlock

Lords of Rosedale was a local Baltimore band playing the heavier side of radio friendly modern and classic rock, hard rock and metal from for over two years from 2009 to 2011.

Forming in February 2009, and playing a first show at Club Reality Bar and Grill on March 21, 2009, the band is a composite of several local bands. Following the dissipation of Phaeton Condition remaining members Gary Leak and Geoff McIntyre were joined by Paul Lackey from Life Denied and shortly after by Rob Zipprian who was previously in Core with Gary Leak a few years earlier. In October 2009 Rob left to be replaced by guitarist George Morlock.

Lords of Rosedale is a four-piece rock group.  The members each have over 20 years experience.  The band grew out of Phaeton Condition (including Gary and Geoff), which was formed in November of 2005 and has been playing live since early 2006.  Their song list currently consists of over 30 cover tunes.  The selections span eras from the 70’s to today.  The classic rock groups covered by the band include such artists as Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Rush, and Whitesnake.  Their 80’s material includes Def Leppard, Motley Crue, and Ozzy Osbourne.  Artists covered from the 90’s include Tool, Soundgarden, and Alice In Chains.  The band also plays modern rock from Godsmack, Shinedown, Theory of a Deadman, Chevelle, Trapt, Rob Zombie, Papa Roach, and more.

Lord Paul Lackey - Vocals, Vibra-Slap, PauerKorde Media

Though Paul's appreciation for music can be traced back to when his mom played piano or listened to the radio or albums or his father broke out the Appalachian songbook and his autoharp, his initial first-hand experiences were the violin and saxophone in elementary school band, followed by the banjo and guitar in middle school. He really garnered a respect & affinity for vocal texture & melody from hearing crooner, Jack Jones, folk/country & western great, John Denver, and early Judas Priest records.  Throughout his teen years, he involved himself behind the scenes with a friend's/schoolmate's band, but never found the right opportunity to participate fully until his brother formed a metal cover band named Sniper.  Sniper never really got off the ground, but Paul got the opportunity to test his mettle at the standards from Ozzy to Iron Maiden to Judas Priest.  Fast forward a decade or so, Paul was discovered at a karaoke bar by founding members of local classic rock band, Troubled Spirit.  He worked with them through a lengthy period of lineup instability and eventually ended up back with his brother when their vocalist had to leave.  Last Rites, as it was then called, was still a metal cover band, and still didn't quite breakout, despite a few supporting gigs at local clubs.  In 2006, Paul hooked up with an original modern metal project called Life Denied, which enjoyed a brief flurry of shows throughout 2008. During this period, Gary Leak of Phaeton Condition, who'd been a supporter of Life Denied, asked Paul if he could stand in on a show or two.  Seeing an opportunity to scratch itches that hadn't been scratched, Paul jumped at the chance to sing some of his other favorites from Journey, Police, Kansas, Def Leppard, and the like. At the end of 2008, Paul made a very difficult decision to leave his friends in Life Denied, and jump on full time with the project that has become the Lords of Rosedale.

Lord Gary Anson Leak - Bass, Vocals

Gary began his musical study with the clarinet and saxophone in elementary and middle school.  In high school his interest turned to rock music and he sang in various garage bands.  At the age of 17, upon entering Towson State University, he began to learn the bass guitar.  His study while in college consisted of private lessons and music theory.  In 1990 Gary formed Quod Nomen with three other Towson students.  The band played many gigs from Essex to Westminster to College Park.  The band was known for their varied array of cover selections mixed with their intellectual compositions that tackled academic themes.  In 1992 the group disbanded upon the departure of their drummer.  Gary continued to play music in several rock groups.  From 1994 to 1995 he played bass, sang lead vocals, and played keyboards in the original progressive rock group Kurgan’s Bane.

In 1996 Gary was the lead vocalist in the Black Sabbath tribute band Heaven & Hell.  In 1999 he formed the progressive rock/metal band Mad Crusade.  In the original project he again played bass, sang lead, and played keyboards.  In 2001 the band released its self-titled CD that garnered positive reviews domestically and internationally.  In 2003 Gary joined the heavy outfit Core.  In 2005 Geoff played drums briefly before the group disbanded.  In the fall of 2005 Gary reunited with former Quod Nomen members to form Phaeton Condition with Geoff joining on drums.  Gary and Geoff formed Lords of Rosedale in late 2008.  Paul had been doing fill-in gigs with Phaeton Condition in 2008 and became a permanent member.  Rob Zipprian, from Core, became the guitarist.  George replaced Rob in late 2009.

Lord George Morlock - Guitars, backing vocals

After trying several instruments in typical high school orchestral music classes, George was handed a guitar from a friend.  This led to six years of private lessons covering lead playing, music theory, and technical structure.  He then began to study his heroes in concert.  These “teachers” included Rick Emmet of Triumph and Randy Rhoads from Ozzy Osbourne.  George likes to arrange the guitar parts slightly differently from others.  He uses an array of effects to give texture and atmosphere to his playing.  He prefers a challenging song to a safe one.  George played with Bluewind, Spank, Atomsplitt, Flatline, and Money Shot prior to finding the Lords.
